The MSP Health Check
Ten questions every business should be able to answer about its IT provider. If you’re not sure, count it as a no: not knowing is a finding too.
- 01Do you have your own admin login to your Microsoft 365 or Google tenant, separate from your MSP’s?
- 02Does every admin use their own named account, with no shared admin logins?
- 03Do you have current documentation of your systems that you could hand to another provider?
- 04Are hardware and licence quotes itemized so you can compare prices?
- 05Is multi-factor authentication enforced for every user and admin account?
- 06Does your agreement define response times and what happens when they’re missed?
- 07Do you have an up-to-date inventory of your hardware and who has each device?
- 08Is your domain registered in your company’s name, not your MSP’s?
- 09Do you know which licences you pay for and who is using them?
- 10Are former employees’ accounts shut off the day they leave?

FAQ
Questions about the audit
Will my MSP know you’re reviewing them?
That’s your call. Most audits go more smoothly with your MSP’s cooperation, and a good provider welcomes the scrutiny. We can also start from the documents you already have.
Are you trying to take my MSP’s place?
No. We don’t offer managed services or day-to-day support. Plenty of audits end with “keep them, here’s what to ask for at renewal.”
What if everything checks out?
Then you have it in writing from someone independent, which is useful for owners, boards and insurers.
What affects the price?
Mainly the size of your environment: number of users, locations and systems. We quote a fixed fee once we’ve agreed the scope.

Tell us a little about your setup. We’ll reply in writing with a scope and a fixed quote, usually within one business day.
